Annie Bailey takes writing fun children’s music seriously
While serving as Primary president for the past three years, Annie has written a whole album’s worth of delightful, gospel-centered children’s songs.
The album as a whole is about the Plan of Salvation from a child’s perspective. Annie says: ” I have wished many times while preparing for a sharing time or family home evening that I could find a song to help teach about a particular subject or part of a gospel principle. I’ve tried to include songs on the album that fill those needs, as well as songs with a new approach to more commonly written about gospel topics.” The album is called There is Joy: Heavenly Father Has a Plan for Me and features many songs that Annie has successfully used in Primary over the years.
“Serving in primary has helped me learn the types of songs that children enjoy, and I’ve worked hard to make each of the songs on the album teach an important message, yet still be fun to sing.” she says.
