This may be your best chance ever! Get your demo heard, voted on by the public, and have a shot at being on a real album.
Greg Hansen Music Productions and YourLDSNeighborhood.com have teamed up to create an online player for new songs and artists under the working title The NeighborhoodJukebox.com. It will look and feel like an old time jukebox, with song selection features, writer and artist info, and song titles on every listing.
New and established singers and songwriters will have the chance to upload original songs or vocal demos to be voted on by the public. The top 12 songs and top 12 singers of the year will be considered for a commercially released Cd, sponsored by Eagle Springs Records and YourLDSNeighborhood.com, at no cost to the winners. Voting by the public and input from a committee of industry professionals will determine the final winners. All top songs and singers will be heard by established artists and producers, who are looking for material or artists for current projects. Writers will retain rights to their songs.
Pre-submission will allow us to have a body of material ready for listening. You may pre-submit up to 5 songs before the official launch of the Jukebox in Spring 2008.
Guidelines for submission:
1.BECOME A MEMBER of yourLDSneighborhood.com music directory. The cost is $75 for a full year. Go to http://yourneighborhoodmusicstudio.com/howtojoin_musicstudio.html for directions on how to join. Your listing in the directory will enable listeners to easily find you on the web, learn about you, and buy your music. In addition, you will get sponsorship promotion through yourLDSneighborhood.com as a member of the directory. You must be a member of yourLDSneighborhood music directory in order to submit songs to the Jukebox.
2. SUBMIT YOUR SONGS
You may submit up to 5 songs a month for $5 per song. This small fee will help offset the creation and programming costs of the Jukebox. The Jukebox will be a powerful tool for you to be heard and possibly get your stuff on a real album.
3. Songs will be screened for offensive content, or any material not considered appropriate for a values-centered audience. We reserve the right to refuse a song or artist that is deemed objectionable. This rule does not limit genre, only content.
4. Songs cannot have been released on a full commercial album previously. However, they can have been released as a single or mini-album commercially, as one-offs or virtual releases. Songs do not need to be professionally recorded, but obviously will do better if they have been.
5. Songs do not need to be religious in nature; all styles are acceptable.
6. Vocal demos may be sung over minus tracks, as long as the owner’s permission has been granted to use them in this way. Singer must show proof of permission before songs can be posted.
7. Both new and established artists and writers may submit material.
8. Submit songs to Greg Hansen, via e-mail in mp3 format with all pertinent information: Name of song, name of singer, writer’s names, contact info and proof of track use permission if needed.
