Cast for “Jonah” read/sing-through announced
Lightstone Pictures is pleased to announce the cast for the first read/sing-through of “Jonah & the Great Fish,” to be held Jan. 17 at Mt. Ridge Junior High School in Highland, Utah.
The read/sing-through is part of the process of developing the script, songs and cast for the next addition to the Liken Bible Series, scheduled to go into production in May. The production team intends to use audience feedback from the read/sing-through to fine-tune the show before it goes before cameras.
“In our past eight Likens, we didn’t really see the production for the first time as a whole until after it had been shot and was edited together in a rough cut,” said Dennis Agle, director. “By then, it was too late to make all but the smallest adjustments. This is our chance to see how the project fits together while we still have the opportunity to make changes to the script and songs.”
The cast for the read/sing-through includes a number of faces that will be familiar to fans of the Liken series, as well as several new faces.
Returning players and their most recent Liken roles include Dan Beck (Rex, king of the Lions, in “Daniel & the Lions), Jeff Stevens (Maddy, in “Samuel the Lamanite”), Josh Tenney (Murray, in “Samuel the Lamanite”), Levi Larsen (Chill, the lion, in “Daniel & the Lions”), and Alex Boyé (Abinadab in “David & Goliath”).
Several new faces to Liken may still be familiar for their other accomplishments, such as Jeremy Elliott (Sam in “Charly”), recording artist Jessie Clark Funk, Jason Celaya (NBC-TV’s Grease: You’re the One That I Want), and several regulars in the local theater scene, including David Weekes, David Smith, Paul Cartwright, and David Burton.
