Even with all the years he’s served in the US Senate, most of Senator Hatch’s constituents are unaware of his penchant to put pen to paper writing hymns, songs, and patriotic music, or that they’ve been sung at Presidential Inaugurations and even on “Oprah.”

Lex de Azevedo is in the process of holding auditions for his Millennium Choir. All parts are welcome.

The Choir has three major performances per year including Gloria and Hosanna from de Azevedo’s Life of Christ series. He is also completing his patriotic work Hymn to America. There are also some recording projects on the horizon.

Those interested should be strong, experienced singers with the ability to sight read, learn music quickly, blend with the choir and control vibrato. For the audition, candidates should be prepared to sing The Star Spangled Banner (unaccompanied), sight sing, demonstrate vocal range.

The Nashville Tribute Band, led by Jason Deere and Dan Truman, will be performing songs from Joseph: A Nashville Tribute To The Prophet and Trek, July 27, 2008 in Nauvoo during the annual Nauvoo Pageant weekend.
