Lakeview Recording Opens New Location

For about twelve years Steven R. Lerud, owner and operator of Lakeview Recording Studio in Orem, UT, closed the door to his garage recording studio and walked the five steps into his house after a long day of work. But as this last year changed, so did his routine.

Steve handed his studio key to a new homeowner and said goodbye. He was nostalgic about leaving the shop he’d built, but was still happy to do so, since he had built a new studio at his new home in Saratoga Springs. Well, that and the fact that the new homeowner was also in the audio-visual field, which helped to ease the pain.

The new Lakeview Recording Studio is almost double the size of the old one, hosting larger studio and control rooms, plus an additional voiceover booth and convenient access to lounge and restroom facilities. Added bonuses are the beautiful view of Utah Lake along the way and the new rates, which are very reasonable at $65 per hour. Even better, students with student ID cards will receive a cut rate of $50 per hour.

But the best part of the deal is that clients also receive the services of a Pearl Award winning sound engineer. Steve has won the Pearl Award for Sound Engineer of the Year for three years running, 2005, 2006, and 2007. According to many of his clients, Steve’s skills, patience and kind personality make him an engineer everybody can enjoy working with.

In addition to the regular studio amenities, Steve has also joined with award-winning producer and arranger Greg Hansen in creating a new label, Eagle Springs, which focuses on helping to develop independent artists with projects featuring uplifting, upbeat music.
