Ryan Shupe is a fifth generation fiddler in his family, and he still plays a fiddle from his great aunt in his shows. He started playing professionally at 8, touring in a band started by his father called the Pee Wee Pickers.

Each member of the RubberBand is an established and well-respected musician in his own right. Guitarist Craig Miner plays not only guitar, but mandolin, bouzouki, banjo, and crafts his own instruments by hand.

Drummer Bart Olsen started out playing the fiddle at 8, but picked up the drums four years later. He became an astute jazz percussionist, but played in country, rock, funk, latin, and ska groups before joining the RubberBand.

Guitarist Roger Archibald has been playing guitar since he was 11, and once played in a band called String Fever (founded by Ryan’s father) along with Ryan’s brother and sister.

Ryan Tilby, the band’s banjo player, was also part of String Fever with Roger Archibald and Ryan Shupe and his sister Tara. He studied jazz guitar at Utah State.

Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand’s title track to their new Montage Music Group album, Last Man Standing, was originally written for a movie about a pinewood derby race.

The title track from their last release, Dream Big, was used as the theme song to the hit NBC TV series *Three Wishes* starring Amy Grant.

Their “Return With Awesome” 2008 concert tour includes stops at MerleFest, The Soiled Dove Underground, Mosquito Serenade Concert Series, and the Albino Skunk Bluegrass Festival.
